15 The king of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives, whose names were Shiphrah and Puah,There is no mention of the "king's" name, or in the previous verse the name of masters are not mentioned, but the two slave baby deliverers are mentioned. This would not have been a respected job in Egypt, yet God gives us their name. Taylor went on to say that ""when each Israelite baby was born, Shiphrah and Puah were continuing the promise that God had given to Abraham ". This is amazing that God is using the least of the people in Egypt to continue his promise but the point was that the two women had to be listening to God. When the king of Egypt gave you a command it was not questioned or ignored, but the bible says that they "feared God", and either did not fear the king or feared God more. Either way, they made the choice to listen to God.
From there Taylor jumped to I Kings 19 and reminded us how God speaks to his people. It can be in any form God desires, but it is often what we are not looking for or expecting. Take a look at I Kings 19 again to remind yourself to listen to God.
I am wanting to hear God in the voice He uses and not wait for God to speak to me how I would prefer.
