Family

Blake has had a rough day. He has not been treating his family, mainly his sister and me, as he knows he should. So this evening as Anna Jo was in the bath, I took some time with Blake to talk to him about some of his actions and words from today. The main principle of the talk was around family and how important family is to us.

The conversation was great and I think I made my point, and after several hugs and tears we began to talk about Anna Jo and Blake and how Auntie Ell and I are also brother and sister. This went into the full realm of family and who all counts as family and so we began to go through the family tree. Moms, dads, bothers, sisters, children and so on and he had a good grasp of all of that. But his question came with Uncle Kenny. "How is Uncle Kenny family to you", Blake asked me. "Well son, since Uncle Kenny married my sister then he becomes apart of my family and we become apart of his family." Blake paused for a second or two and then smiled like he had just stolen something.

"So you got your best friend to marry your sister?", he asks. "What a great trick you played on her right dad?"

"Yes son, it was a great trick."
