Dad's Surgery

I would like to use this blog to inform those who are out there about my dad's progress concerning his aneurysm and the upcoming surgery.

Today he is having a heart catheterization done with his cardiologist in San Diego. That data should then be sent to Houston to his thoracic Surgeon who is Dr. J. Coselli. Insurance and authorizations for treatment have delayed the surgery that dad needs on his second aneurysm. The first surgery took place last July 29 and was a huge success. This second procedure is on a large aneurysm that is on his ascending aorta; the section that curves and goes down into the heart. Hopefully we will be able to have a date set for surgery in the next few days.

We ask for your prayers for my Dad and Mom. They are both in need of peace and strength from God.

Byron

Welcome to the world of blogging. The first entry was a great read - it's always good when any of my friends become existentialists. Your dad is in my prayers. Keep us posted.

These things are so hard. What has been amazing to me is the lack of "shutting down" that I would think would normally occur with such a serious condition. God bless you guys and thanks for Dr. Coselli's link. It's nice to know who the surgeon is we should pray for.
