Fathers Day

Don R. Bundy, 12-68

This is one of my favorite pictures of my dad. He tells the story that he had just walked through a rice field with water up to his chest. They walked in the water to avoid land mines. Don R. Bundy was born in July of 1944. This is him at 24 years old, in South East Asia were he served for 13 months. He survived this and many other trials to become the father of my sister in 1971, and my dad in 1975. Donielle and I could not have asked for better dad.

It is hard to describe a man that you love so much in just a few words. I don't know how else to say it: My dad is cool. Those of you who know me, know my dad. All of my life he has been a friend to my friends which has been so wonderful. He is a strong man, wonderful husband, loving father and father in law and a cool "grandon" (my sister named him for the grandkids).

I miss my dad. I wish we could have more time together doing the regular mundane things of life. I am so thankful that he survived the surgeries and is doing great in recovery. I look forward to many rounds of golf in the future. He has been such a great friend, and wonderful teacher to me all of my life.

Dad, Happy Fathers Day. God blessed me by allowing me to be your son.

Bundy,

Is it my imagination or are you changing the look of the SIDELINE?
