Biker Guys

I used to be a really good bike rider. I grew up in the BMX era, racing and jumping and crashing. We didn't wear helmets or protective gear in those days, but now we do. Shar said if Blake has to wear a helmet then so does dad. I have turned into biker dad, with my very cool child seat on the rear. This is the view the neighbors get as Blake and I cruise the streets of The Meadows.

Peyton just had his 7 year well check and the doctor asked him some basic questions that he, not mom, had to answer. Among them was, "can you ride a 2 wheeler bike? do you ALWAYS ALWAYS wear a helmet when you ride a bike? My overly honest son answered, yes, except when my dad didn't wear one once, I didn't." Then followed a 10 minute lecture on helmets, comas, Kenny shouldn't be allowed to ride a bike without a helmet.....how I wanted Kenny to be sitting in that chair instead of me. #&*@%#* So, keep up the good work, and keep the helmet on whenever you leave the house, just for safety!

Lookin' good biker dad. Now all you need is some spandex to complete the picture. (I need to get me one of those fancy seats for Rowan.)

Luckily, Carl has now removed the very same stylish seat from the back of his bike. Allyson is now on her 12" Dora the Explorer bike. You might want to talk to Carl about the helmet issue...

Great picture. Blake has the same expression on his face as when he rode shotgun in the boat. Byron, it's good to see you have put some meat on those legs. Has Sharla let you go around the block yet?
