Soccer Game # 1

I am sorry but this is just a tough picture of little Blake Samuel Bundy.  I cannot explain to you how fired up he was to have a uniform, shin guards and cleats and be at his first game.

We are involved with Richland Hills Upward Soccer program. Blake is on the mighty Little Polar Bears and he had his first game this past Saturday morning.  After missing both practices in the past 10 days we were unsure of what would happen.

4 years old soccer at church could not be any bigger of a deal. The names of each team and the players are announced over a loud speaker at he beginning of each game and the parents form a run through tunnel for the kids to fly through as they sprint to midfield and the coach.  Substitutions are every 3 minutes, which also marks the end of each of the 12 periods.  12 periods of 4 year old soccer!!!

Of course, for the kids the greatest part of the game was the snacks at the end.  Upwards is designed with group prayers before each game and team prayers lead by the coaches, along with memory verses and bible/moral lessons taught at practice, which we have not been to yet.  All in all it was a great Saturday morning.  I will have to say that Blake did have two goals (there is no goalie) and one really good crash as he was running down the field.  Click here to see some of the best pics from this past Saturday.
