The State Fair!!!

This is our second year to attend The State Fair of Texas at Fair Park in Dallas.  Such a great way to go and waste some money, eat unhealthy food and play some lame games.

There are some traditions that we must uphold as we attend the state fair.
1.  Fletcher's Corn Dog.  My papa (dad's dad) used to buy these for us at the fair.  This was the only acceptable form of food my nana and papa would eat at the fair.  Still so very good.
2.  Cotton Candy.  My dad has passed along the addiction of cotton candy to myself and Blake.  It is just so good melting in your mouth.  We have to have it.
3.  Funnel Cake.  We love our funnel cakes.  I always try to get the lady behind the counter to give us some extra powder sugar.  This time it was a high school aged girl and she poured the sugar on like it was the last funnel cake she would ever make.
4.  We always talk back to Big Tex, and when he says "Howdy Folks" we say "howdy Big Tex."  It is fun to watch people watch you talk to a giant cowboy.

It is great to have this time in the middle of football season to spend with the family.  Some great visual pictures of people at the fair this year.  I mean great!  I could write for hours about the "things" I see walking around the fair grounds, but I will only mention this one.  The lady selling Salt Water Taffy did not have any teeth.  I went to look at her counter just to make sure. Kinda ironic that the lady selling candy is a toothless wonder.  That is just one of many that I wish I could share.

Kenny, and the guys from college; I wish you could have been there.

Oh man that takes me back. I loved when the fair would come around we always had so much fun there. I also loved the Ft. Worth Stockyards Show. I still can't believe we got two days off of school for that!
