I hope you do not mind a few comments from someone you do not know, because there are a couple of things that are troubling about this video.
1) Dr Foster seems to only be going back 200 yrs to Stone & Campbell instead of 2000+ yrs to find the roots/heritage of his church and 2) the stated purpose of the "Great Communion" according to their website (www.greatcommunion.org) is to "celebrate the bicentennial of Thomas Campbell’s “Declaration and Address” written in 1809".
The Lord's Supper should NEVER be taken/observed for ANY reason other than to remember Christ's death, burial and resurrection when He gave Himself for us. Many books have been written on this subject in recent years, but we do not need any book other than the accounts in Matthew and Luke to instruct us.
I am not familiar with Dr Foster, but I do hope his class on church history is rooted in the New Testament account and only cites events thru the years that have both perverted and restored the church to her intended purpose according to that original model. It always troubles me when I hear people say that they are part of a church that had it's 'beginning' in the Restoration Movement.

Foster is New Testament follower of Christ, and one of his courses focuses on the recent history of the Christian Church and the Churches of Christ.
He is not leaning toward any idea that says the Lord's Supper is something other than the observation of believers of the sacrifice of Christ for all sinners. He is, in my opinion, stating that "christians" of recent years (stone, campbell and forward) should be willing to celebrate Christ together, and this has not been the practice.
I am assuming there is a better explanation out there. Hope to hear from others.
