T.T.

Blake did it for the first time today in the little boy potty. We were changing a diaper and he asked to go potty, which he does often and just enjoys sitting there. But today he did it. As he sat there and went "tee tee" all over the floor and himself, Shar and I applauded like he had just won gold at the Olympics. It was a joyful moment.

For his success he received a popsicle, which he eats in the backyard. He does this daily without supervision, but today I watched out the living room window. He wanders around and eats slowly. Blake had made his way back up to the porch when his popsicle split in two falling to the concrete. The next scene was priceless. He quickly scrambled trying to pick up the melting ice and shove it in his mouth before Kojie got to it. This event ended with Kojie licking the melted juice off of Blake's hands and belly. Blake and Kojie both think that is just great.

On the way home from church we stopped for a slurpee at 7-11. At home Shar took Anna inside and Blake and I had a seat on the drive way. We sat there and shared a cola slurpee as the storm clouds formed to the south of us. It was a perfect moment. The slurpee that did not make it into his mouth was once again cleaned up by our trustee dog Kojie. I wish time would slow down so these moments of perfection would last longer.

Too sweet, Byron. No, not the slurpees and the popsicles (although I'm sure they were)...the moment! And the fact that you are doing your best to relish in them.

And GO Blake! He's not even two yet, and peeing in the pot! :) He's a prodigy!

Good job Blake! Potty training is a tough job that requires a lot of patience and a ton of praise. Good luck on that!
Byron, I know what you mean about those special moments. Even with my incredible ornery kids it is moments like those that make all of the other things vanish. Enjoy those times.

Potty training at age 2 is very cool. My boys were always more eager to please mommy and daddy at two than at three. Keep up the good work. The thought of only one kid in diapers must be a big motivator!
