Spring Break 2007

Hope you had a great Spring Break. Shar planned our week to the minute. Tuesday - Thursday we were with Aunt Sharon at El Berta, the hidden oasis of Sulphur Springs. "Let the gentle breeze of El Berta cleanse your soul" is what Sharon would say in the morning. It is a real treat and wonderful time to be with Sharon and her parents at El Berta. Nothing to do but play, tire swing, and relax. We are so very grateful for the Philips hospitality and willingness to invite us back for a second year. After El Berta we drove to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and started visiting old friends. First was the Gilillands in Ft. Worth. Always a great time to be with such good friends as Dave and Karise and their girls. Then we ate dinner with Shar's childhood friend and saw their son Jake, their cool new house and shared some good pizza. We got to spend Thursday night with the Berry's in Burleson, who are just some of the greatest people in the world. It was great to be with Lisa and the girls......... and Nathan too. Such wonderful friends and we stayed up until 1 a.m. sharing and talking. Their girls are so big and the sad part was that they did not remember me. My feelings were hurt. Next we went to see Shar's good friend Keari and her husband and new baby boy. They have a really cool house and Michael has done a lot of the work himself.

The week went by fast, but it was a great time. About 700 miles total driving and way too many meals out, but vacation is vacation. Looking forward to our next trip.
